Lavender For Elodie

My dear, If you mean to gather lavender for the house, there are several places nearby where it grows well enough that you should not have to wander far. You will find some lovely bushes just north of the Black River Road, a little way east of the East Bridge. Walk perhaps a hundred paces north from the road and you will see them near the edge of the forest, where the ground turns dry and stony. There is more lavender just off the Red Hill Road, on the eastern side as you walk north toward the quarry. The plants sit a little back from the roadside where the sun reaches them through the trees. Do take care if you go further north. Lavender also grows near that hideous surgical camp, the Lazaret. The bushes stand northwest of the camp, directly opposite it across the ground. The scent there is strong enough to notice even before you see the flowers, though the place itself is not one I care to linger near. Gather what you need and come home before dusk. -Mother
