Permafrost System Requirements
To run Permafrost you need at least an Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB or AMD RX 590, an Intel Core i5-8600K or Ryzen 5 3500, 16 GB of RAM and 30 GB of free space on Windows 10 64-bit with DirectX 12. The recommended specs raise the graphics card to an RTX 3070 Ti or RX 6750 XT and the processor to an i5-12400 or Ryzen 5 5600X. Memory stays at 16 GB. Will my PC run Permafrost?
Memory is the line most people miss. Both tiers ask for 16 GB of RAM, so a PC with 8 GB is below the minimum even if its graphics card is fine. On graphics, the minimum is a 2016-era card, but the recommended RTX 3070 Ti is a big step up. That gap suggests the minimum is meant for low settings.
Permafrost is Windows only on Steam, and Valve hasn't rated it for Steam Deck yet. These are the Early Access requirements. They can change before or after launch on 9 October, and we'll update this page when the store page changes. Release dates and the playtest are on the Permafrost hub. The Steam page lists Windows only. Valve has not published a Steam Deck rating for Permafrost yet, so Deck support is unknown.

Steam lists partial controller support, which usually means some menus or actions still need a mouse and keyboard.
