Bodycam screen zoomed in and menu buttons do nothing: resolution fix

What you see

The game launches, but the screen is zoomed in so you can't see all of it. Clicking the buttons does nothing, you can't get into the settings, and the menu music keeps playing.

The game is running at a resolution that does not match your screen, so the menu is cut off and your clicks land in the wrong place. A Reissad Studio staff member gave a fix: set your real resolution in the game's settings file. These reports are from December 2025.

What players try

One at a time. Tell us whether each one worked and the next opens.

  1. Close the game. Press Windows+R, paste %localappdata%\Bodycam\Saved\Config\Windows and open GameUserSettings.ini in Notepad. Set ResolutionSizeX, ResolutionSizeY, LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeX and LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeY to your monitor's resolution (for example 1920 and 1080), save, and start the game. A member of the Reissad Studio staff gave this fix on Steam and called it a "bandage fix" while a proper one was worked on.

  2. In Settings, Graphics, Display, change the window mode to windowed, tick full screen, then set it back to borderless. One player said this worked if you click low and to the left of each button, because the cursor does not line up. Two others said they could not reach the settings at all, so try the file edit first.

  3. If you can't find or edit the file, deleting %localappdata%\Bodycam resets all your settings to default. The pinned community guide in the Steam forum recommends it for corrupted settings. Nobody in the thread reported trying it for this problem.

What we know and don’t

A Steam thread started on 19 December 2025 describes this, and at least four other players in it said they had the same problem. One said they had had it “for over a month”. One said they asked for a refund over it.

On 22 December, 3L0_ replied with the settings-file fix above. On r/BodycamGame the same account carries Reissad Studio flair, and it is listed as staff on the official Discord. They said the team was aware of the resolution issue and working on a real fix, and that the menus were being rebuilt from scratch. Several players said they could not find the folder. It is under your user’s AppData\Local, not the Steam install folder. The thread gives the path as Config\Window, while moderators on the official Discord give it as Config\Windows. If one doesn’t exist, try the other.

When these reports are from. The V0.7.3 update on 11 December 2025 listed “First boot resolution issues fixed”, but this thread started a week later. The V0.8 update in September 2026 lists improved “graphics presets and resolution scale handling”. We haven’t seen this reported since V0.8, so it may be fixed. If it happens to you now, post it on the status page.
