Enginefall stuck on spinning gears after shaders compile

What we know and don’t

This comes from one Steam thread. On 21 June the original poster wrote that after compiling shaders, the gears at the bottom right spin forever and no menu appears. Another player said they had the same thing the same day, and a third, on 22 June, confirmed it while listing a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, a Radeon 9070 XT and 32 GB of RAM.

Nobody in the thread reported a fix and there is no developer reply. Because it happened on a high-end PC we can’t say it is a problem with the player’s machine, and we can’t say it is the developers’ either, so the cause is listed as not confirmed.

The studio’s own fixed-issues channel on the official Discord lists “stuck on the first screen” and “Game Unable to Launch” as fixed on 14 July. We can’t say those are this exact problem, but they suggest launch hangs like this were being worked on and fixed after June.

These reports come from the June demo. We have not found reports of this on the September playtest build, so it may not affect it. If you are seeing it now, post what you see, and your PC specs, on the server status page.
